We are a fun and innovative agency located in Sarasota, FL. We provide our diverse client base with custom solutions in to help solve their business needs. These high end projects require top talent to take on the challenge. We are actively looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team. If you have experience in open source technologies and love coding in an open plan environment, we want to talk to you.

We have two positions open. Although we prefer for the position to be held in our Sarasota office.

What you need for this position:

- 1-2 yrs of Ruby on Rails
- Related work experience
- Experience working on multiple development projects
- Solid understanding and/or experience of Object Oriented programming and Design concepts
- Working knowledge of Git
- Working knowledge of Capistrano is a plus
- Working knowledge of Linux
- Working knowledge of Apache Fusion/Passenger
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Must have strong work ethic

Position Summary:

The Web Developer’s role at Glide Interactive is multifaceted. As a web developer, you are passionate, talented, and creative. The developer is expected to plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of a website project relating to technical design, development, integration, and deployment our client’s custom websites and applications. This individual will apply proven technical skills, communication skills, and knowledge of best practices to successfully implement websites and web applications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interpret business and functional requirements into a strong design.
  • Apply industry best practices and standards in conjunction with project requirements and design.
  • Work closely with other developers and marketing.
  • Manage time effectively with minimal supervision to accurately scope projects and ensure that projects release on-time.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements/efficiencies and drive adoption of high priority/high value improvements within the team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including ability to accurately gauge project duration, deliver on deadlines, switch rapidly between projects in a fast paced environment and manage a workload with possible conflicting priorities.
  • The ability to thrive in a demanding environment, requiring high degree of deadline-driven productivity, commitment, adaptability, communication, initiative and follow-through.
  • Very strong understanding of web development best practices, including cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and coding standards.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience with PHP, MySQL, Javascript, AJAX, HTML, XHTML, CSS
  • Ability to write efficient queries and optimize database-intensive application
  • In-depth experience developing numerous web-based applications
  • Must be able to understand and use development frameworks
  • Strong understanding of Linux is a plus
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
  • The ability to communicate to all levels of users (internal and external), strong problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership
  • Strong commitment to quality, architecture, and documentation

Account/Project Manager

Position Summary:

Glide Interactive is currently seeking a business/web savvy Account Manager/Project Manager to join our fast growing company.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and managing web projects
  • Client liaison
  • Coordinate the process and the execution of the project across the Creative Development and Business Development teams.
  • Coordinate all efforts across the two areas (Creative and Bus Dev)
  • Ensure the project remains within the scope of work
  • Validate that the scope can be completed within the timeline
  • Develop the project plan and schedule
  • Ensure every necessary step to complete project is accounted for in project plan
  • Clearly organize and forecast deliverables and dependencies
  • Ensure proactive scheduling of all aspects of the website production
  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects from requirements through launch
  • Manage day-to-day tasks and have in-depth involvement to allow for early identification of potential challenges
  • Manage project scope and execute change control when additional requests for features or functionality are made
  • Evaluate situations that may require intervention from business development or CEO.
  • Ensure on-time project deliverables
  • Provide regular updates to business development and creative development teams
  • Confidently lead, motivate, influence and drive progress

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ years of related experience.
  • Proven track record in Account Management (direct marketing or interactive agency experience is a plus)
  • Very strong analytical/reporting skills
  • Experience with managing creative copy and design using data and testing methodologies
  • Excellent client service acumen, presentation and writing skills
  • Creative, self-starter, with the ability to handle multiple projects while consistently meeting and exceeding objectives
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Track record of working across an organization to get things done
  • The ability to learn quickly and think strategically + identify areas of improvement and act on them

Salary: $40, 000 – $45,000
